DELBATCH
Allows incorrect trades posted through a batch to be deleted.
- At the Portvue menu, type DELBATCH
The following prompt will appear:
ENTER BATCH NUMBER TO DELETE TRADES FROM (HIT RETURN TO EXIT):
- Type the batch number and hit ENTER
A review of the batch will appear and the following prompt will appear:
IS THIS THE CORRECT BATCH? (NOTE DATE): 11 3 1995 ?
- If this is the correct batch, respond with a Y. (If it is the wrong batch, respond by entering N and you will be prompted again for a batch number)
You will be prompted:
SELECT TRADE TYPE TO DELETE: (OPE, CLO or HIT RETURN FOR ´ALL´)
- Enter the Trade Type to delete or hit return to choose all trade types
You will then be prompted for an account selection:
SELECT ACCOUNTS (HIT RETURN FOR ALL)

SEARCH FOR WHAT?
- Hit ENTER if you want to delete the trade(s) for all accounts or choose selected account(s) by entering the account SNAM's or by searching on any account master field (ie. MGR EQ ABC)
You will be prompted to select the securities to delete the trade(s) for:
HIT RETURN FOR ALL SECURITIES IN THE BATCH
WHICH SECURITIES (ENTER SACUS, TICK, CUSIP):
- Enter a specific security to delete a trade for or hit ENTER to delete trades for all securities
Tip: Narrow down the account and security selections as much as possible so that you do not to delete any additional trades in error.
If you do not want to specify a particular security, you are also given the ability the select a particular issue type to be deleted. You will be prompted:
Select Issue Types (Hit Return for All) :
- Enter an issue type (ISSTY) code or hit ENTER to choose all issue types
If the batch was created from a block in the trading system, a list of the blocks in that batch is displayed and you are prompted to choose a block:

SELECT BLOCK (HIT RETURN FOR ALL):
- Enter a block name or hit ENTER to choose all the blocks in the batch
A batch including the trades with the selected accounts and securities will appear. Each original trade type will be converted to a DEL trade type. In addition the trailer line is adjusted to reflect the number of deletes included in the batch.
- Review the batch and if all will appear okay type (Q and then press ENTER
You will be prompted:
WOULD YOU LIKE TO POST THIS BATCH NOW ?
- Respond Y and hit ENTER
The batch will post and you will see the batch transfer on the screen. If there are any trades that DELBATCH is unable to delete you will see a NO DELETE message.
Note: DELBATCH will look at both the original batch and EDPORT to verify which trade to delete. If any changes have been made to a trade in EDPORT or to the original batch, DELBATCH will be unable to delete that particular trade. Any other trades in the batch will be posted.
In case you are using DELBATCH to make a correction to a batch rather than just delete the trade entirely, you are given the opportunity to create a new batch of the deleted trades that you can correct. You will be prompted:
DO YOU WANT THE ORIGINAL TRADES OF THE DELETES IN A BATCH ?
- Respond Y if you want to make corrections
A new batch is created including the trades that had been deleted, with their original trade types (OPE or CLO). The trailer line will be included, reflecting the number of purchases (OPE's) and sales (CLO's) in the batch. You can make any necessary changes by arrowing up to the column that needs changing and overwriting the information in that field.
- Type (Q and hit ENTER

You will see a summary of the trades included in the batch in addition to the batch number.
You will be prompted:
WOULD YOU LIKE TO POST THIS BATCH NOW ?
- Answer Y to post the batch
If you would like to post it at a later time, you can respond N and the batch will be available to post later on through POSTNEW. If you choose to post the batch later, be sure to remember the batch number. The batch will post as it does in TRADESNEW, displaying any error messages if there are problems in the batch.
