EDGL

EDGL allows you to edit entries in the general ledger for a group of accounts.

1. At the Portvue menu, type EDGL

The following prompt will appear:

SEARCH FOR WHAT?

2. Use a database command to specify one or more accounts to edit
3. After making your selection, the following prompt will appear:

DO YOU WISH TO EDIT OR PRINT THESE ACCOUNTS?

Type E to edit or P to print.

4. Type (P to picture the line in the general ledger. Use the arrow keys to move to the data you want to edit and type over it
5. To exit and save, type (Q twice

The following prompt will appear:

WOULD YOU LIKE TO VIEW CASH BALANCE ?

If you answer YES, the system will prompt you to select an as of date. After selecting the date, you will see the cash, money market fund and total balances for the account(s) as of that date. A report is created with the balances. It is called BALANC.LRP. This is the same report and information you would get if you ran the report BALANCE.

If you answer NO, the system will return to the menu.
