NEWACCT

Allows multiple new accounts to be created.

1. At the Portvue menu, type NEWACCT

The following will appear:

(0) SNAM ACNUM RR SELL TITLE
(1) ---- ------ --- ---- -----------------
(2)

2. Type a short name (SNAM) for the account

Choose the SNAM so that it uniquely identifies the account. SNAMs must begin with a letter and they should be six characters. If possible, use the first four letters of the account holder's last name followed by the first two letters of his or her first name. If you enter a SNAM that is not unique, the system displays an error message.

3. Type the account number (ACNUM), registered representative code (RR) and the sell code (SELL)

The sell code determines the method in which positions are sold.

Note: Separate each of these data with a space. You do not need to line them up under the headings. If you do not know what they are, type 0. You can go back and insert this information later on with EDAC or EDITAC

4. Type the account title (TITLE) and press Enter

Note: The title can be up to 40 characters.

5. To exit and save, type (Q twice

The system will automatically run the POSTGL function so you can enter initial cash information for the account(s).
